# Irises

Agent engines are very good at deep work but their replies read like reports and nobody texts like that. This project asks what it takes for an agent to talk like a real person.

Irises fronts the hermes-agent engine and speaks through four prompts that share one personality text. It hands deep work to the engine through a meta-prompt contract and keeps memory in SQLite across short, medium, and long tiers. A hidden mood system drives the register with a 28-day cycle, a circadian rhythm, and a relationship climate with ease, candor, and playfulness dials.

I wanted to know if a machine could learn the rhythm of a real conversation, the pauses, the small words, and the way we actually talk.
